Four new vice presidents join Airbus Americas

In the last six months, four new executives have joined the ranks of Airbus Americas’ headquarters team in Herndon, Virginia. These positions reflect a combination of replacement and expansion of the senior management team.

Laurent M. Tremeau, 48, was appointed Vice President – Finance for Airbus Americas in January of this year. In his new position, Tremeau is responsible for the overall leadership of all finance activities within Airbus Americas and its subsidiaries. He reports directly to the President and CEO of Airbus Americas, Barry Eccleston.

Tremeau has an extensive background in the finance world, including a variety of management and senior management positions at Imerys, a multi-national industrial minerals company, and Schlumberger, a global oilfield services organization. The Vice President – Finance position is a new title in the Airbus Americas organization. Tremeau is a native Parisian.

Robert A. Geckle Jr., 40, was named Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Airbus Americas in January 2011, replacing the retiring Renee Martin-Nagle. Geckle oversees the Airbus Americas‘ legal team, as well as being in charge of all legal issues and compliance affecting Airbus Americas. He reports directly to Barry Eccleston.

Geckle comes to Airbus following six years with EADS North America and EADS NV where, most recently, his responsibilities in Paris included global merger and acquisition transactions within EADS and its four divisions. Prior to that, he was a Washington D.C.-based attorney with Hogan & Hartson, focused on cross-border transactions. Geckle is a Connecticut native.

Linda Herbert, 46, was named Vice President of Human Resources & Administration for Airbus Americas in September 2010, replacing the retiring Robert Ehrenfeld. Herbert is reponsible for the organization, development, alignment and leadership of the human resources and administrative services that support Airbus Americas‘ growth and operational objectives. She reports directly to Barry Eccleston.

Herbert joins Airbus Americas as part of an already 17-year career with Airbus in Europe. Among her previous positions with the aircraft manufacturer, she served as a senior human resources business partner for the A380 program, based in Toulouse, and the head of human resources for the UK-based engineering and procurement teams. Herbert was born and raised in the United Kingdom.

David Williams, 43, was appointed Vice President – Procurement for Airbus Americas in January 2011. This is a newly created position. Williams is heading up the new office, charged with growing established relationships with existing U.S. suppliers as well as facilitation new opportunities for additional procurement in the U.S. for both Airbus and parent company EADS.

Williams has worked wtihin the EADS group since 2001. He initially joined Airbus in the United Kingdom as Head of Procurement Quality and Supply Chain Management for the airframe division. Since that time he has moved to increasingly senior positions in the areas of sourcing and supply chain management, most recently, as Head of Supply Chain and Quality Materials Procurement for Airbus. Williams is a native of the United Kingdom.
