Governor Bill Richardson Announces AerSale, Inc. Expanding to Roswell

ROSWELL-Governor Bill Richardson is in Roswell today to announce that AerSale, Inc. has acquired Great Southwest Aviation including its 15 employees, and plans to add 100 to 200 mechanics, inspectors and support staff as it grows its aircraft leasing business. AerSale, a Florida based company, has also acquired approximately 200,000 square feet of aircraft hangar and warehouse space at the Roswell International Air Center, and plans to acquire over $1 billion of aircraft over the next 5 years.

“I am pleased that AerSale chose New Mexico, over all other locations, as the best place to expand its growing company. Today’s announcement shows that our work to create a probusiness state is continuing to pay off,” Governor Richardson said. “Roswell has a long history in aviation and aerospace, and AerSale’s investment will be a welcome addition to that tradition.”

AerSale is a global provider of aftermarket aircraft, engines, and their component parts to airlines, leasing companies, and original equipment manufacturers (OEM)/ maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service providers.

In addition to the hanger space, the company also acquired tooling, ground support equipment, and an FAA-approved Certified Repair Station license which will authorize it to work on both narrow-body and wide-body commercial jet aircraft.

AerSale has purchased or committed to purchase 56 commercial aircraft, including Airbus A320-200, Boeing 737-300/-400, Boeing 767-200ER/-300, and McDonnell Douglas DC8-70 series aircraft.
