MEXICO CITY, Jan. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B de C.V. (“Aeromexico”) (BMV: AEROMEX), the largest intercontinental airline in Mexico, reports operating statistics for December, 2012.
Grupo Aeromexico transported 14 million 812 thousand passengers in 2012; a 3.3% year-on-year increase, driven by a 5.3% increase in international passenger traffic and a 2.6% increase in domestic passenger traffic. In December 2012, Grupo Aeromexico transported one million 279 thousand passengers, which represents a 1.3% year-on-year decrease for the month of December. International passenger traffic increased 2.2% while domestic passenger traffic declined 2.8% in December.
The Company’s demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), increased 3.7% and capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased 6.0% in 2012. Therefore, the load factor for the year was 76.6%. In December, Grupo Aeromexico’s RPKs decreased by 0.4% and ASKs grew 2.5%, year-on-year. The load factor for the month was 75.9%.
