Gulf Air Appoints New Country Manager for Ethiopia

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom Bahrain, has appointed Mr. Salah AlShawosh as the airline’s country manager to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Mr. AlShawosh, a Bahraini national, was previously based in India where he held the position of airport manager in Bombay for six years.

Gulf Air’s Acting Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Ahmed Janahi, commented on the appointment: “A seasoned aviation professional with a career spanning almost 30 years, Salah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position. His immediate focus will be on strengthening existing relationships with travel agents and other key stakeholders in Ethiopia to drive the commercial performance of one of Gulf Air’s most important routes.”

Ethiopia is an important market for Gulf Air since the route was launched in January 2011. Currently Gulf Air operates 6 weekly flights between Addis Ababa and Bahrain providing excellent connectivity via Bahrain to key destinations across the airline’s network.
