HAECO CABIN SOLUTIONS RECEIVES FIRST STC
Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (“HAECO Group”) today announced that its subsidiary HAECO Cabin Solutions, LLC (“HAECO Cabin Solutions”) has received its first Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) on 30 November for the green cabin completion of a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft for Air Astana.
The project demonstrated the breadth and depth of the HAECO Group’s engineering capabilities and services. HAECO’s Hong Kong-based engineers were responsible for the engineering design, HAECO Cabin Solutions’ team in San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A. was responsible for obtaining the FAA STC and programme management, whilst procurement, parts manufacturing and installation were handled by Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. (“TAECO”), another subsidiary of the HAECO Group in Xiamen, Fujian province, China. The Boeing 767 aircraft, which was delivered to Xiamen green from The Boeing Company, had a two-class cabin installed with lie-flat bed business class seats and Audio Video on Demand (AVOD) In-flight Entertainment system (IFE) in both economy and business class.
The strength of the three HAECO Group companies came together seamlessly to deliver a turnkey engineering, manufacturing, installation and certification solution that offered the customer convenience of an all-in-one package. By offering a turnkey cabin reconfiguration solution, HAECO can effectively focus its in-house resources on the on- time delivery of the project without relying on additional third party vendors for manufacturing or installation activities. The additional level of control over the project leads to a greater level of schedule security for airline customers.
The HAECO Cabin Solutions / Air Astana contract is for a total of three aircraft. The first two of which will enter commercial service on international routes from 12 December following an inauguration ceremony held in Astana on the same day.
