HONOLULU – Hawaiian Airlines has announced the appointment of Marc Kup to the position of senior director – fleet transaction. He previously served as senior director – maintenance engineering. In his new role, Kup is responsible for overseeing the negotiation and purchasing of new aircraft for Hawaiian Airlines as the carrier continues to expand its fleet.
“Marc is very well-versed in our fleet capabilities and understands our long-term aircraft needs as our business continues to expand,” said Kevin Halloran, Hawaiian Airlines vice president – treasury and treasurer. “We look forward to him leading our efforts in the strategic purchasing of new aircraft as our network grows.”
Kup has more than 20 years of airline and military flight operations experience. He joined Hawaiian Airlines in 2002 as senior director -performance engineering, where he oversaw aircraft capability and fuel budget, before being promoted to senior director – maintenance engineering. Prior to joining Hawaiian Airlines, Kup held a number of positions in the areas of engineering and operations at Trans World Airlines (TWA), Hamburg Airlines and Lufthansa.
Kup holds an engineering degree in airframe design from the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany, and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree in international business from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. He is a member of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT).
