London, June 17th 2014: Dr Stuart Hatcher, Head of Valuations & Risk at International Bureau of Aviation has successfully passed his Senior Certified Appraiser exams joining an elite group of only sixteen other Appraisers worldwide to hold this position. The stringent examinations and pre-qualification criteria are set by the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) of which IBA are corporate members. IBA’s President, Phil Seymour, is already a Senior Certified Appraiser and the Company also employs two other Certified Appraisers, as well as David Yu, a candidate Appraiser based in China.
“I am delighted for Stuart and for IBA as a company” says Phil Seymour. “This accreditation puts IBA at the forefront of the aviation appraisal community and serves to reinforce IBA’s quality of service and depth of experience to our international client base. We are finding that our customers are seeking solutions to increasingly complex and demanding projects and the need for the ISTAT accreditation is becoming the benchmark for commercial aircraft appraisals.”
Owen Geach, Commercial Director at IBA clarifies why this is so important: “IBA’s global client base comprises 1,600 organisations including banks, lessors, airlines, manufacturers, suppliers and investors. The majority of these customers require valuation data and expert opinion based on true knowledge and experience. We recognise that such services differentiate IBA from many of our competitors and having four formally qualified Appraisers, with a fifth undergoing candidate preparation, amongst our 48 full time staff is a real testament to the importance that the Company places on recognised formal certification.”
