Iberia launches today its non-stop flights between Barcelona and Miami

Iberia launches today its non-stop flights between Barcelona and Miami. This new route opens the door to another 15 destinations in America: Houston and Dallas in Texas; Orlando, Tampa, Key West, Pensacola, Fort Meyers and Tallahassee in Florida; Norfolk in Virginia; San Juan in Puerto Rico, Mexico City and Cancun both in Mexico; Managua in Nicaragua; San Pedro Sula in Honduras; as well as Panama City. Passengers flying from Barcelona to Miami will be able to connect to those destinations via American Airlines and the Taca Group.

At Barcelona airport, passengers flying on the non-stop route from Miami can link with Iberia Regional / Air Nostrum and Vueling flights to cities such as Bilbao, Majorca, Malaga and Valencia in Spain or Milan, Nice, Paris and Rome in Europe

Iberia expects to carry 53,000 passengers on this route in the first year of operation. A third of them would be connecting passengers.

Frequent Flyer points for three flights between Barcelona and Madrid

To promote the new Miami-Barcelona route, Iberia is awarding triple frequent flyer points for tickets acquired on iberia.com through May 31st. The 1,800 points obtained flying from Miami to Barcelona are enough to pay for three return Madrid-Barcelona shuttle flights, for two return trips between Madrid and Casablanca, or for one return flight between Madrid and Athens, Istanbul, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin, or other cities in Europe.

Non-stop flight Barcelona – Miami

The new Iberia non-stop route Barcelona-Miami will be operated three times weekly -on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. It will leave El Prat airport at 13:20 and arrive at Miami at 18:10 local time. The return flight will depart from Miami International airport at 19:45 and will land in the Catalonian city at 11:00 a.m. the following day.

Iberia also offers non-stop flights between the Catalonian city and New York under a code-sharing agreement with American Airlines.
The aircraft used on the non-stop Barcelona-Miami route will be a 254-seat Airbus A-340/300, with a 36-seat Business Plus section, with seats that unfold into horizontal beds.
Business passengers using the new flight will be able to use the airline’s VIP lounges in both Barcelona and Miami airports. At Miami International Airport, Iberia, together with American Airlines and British Airways, has just opened a new VIP lounge that takes up 1,829 m2 and can accommodate up to 120 people.

There are flights available between Barcelona and Miami from 434 EUR, all surcharges and taxes included, on www.iberia.com.

Non-stop flight Barcelona-Sao Paulo

On June 19th, Iberia will launch a new non-stop route between Barcelona and São Paulo with two flights weekly -on Wednesdays and Sundays.It will depart from Barcelona at 21:00 and will arrive at 03:30 in São Paulo. The return flight will leave at 13:50 and land at 05:40.

These flights will also connect to the other Iberia destinations in Barcelona.

With this new route, Brazil becomes Iberia’s most important Latin American destination. In February, the airline launched a flight from Madrid to Fortaleza and Recife. It also offers two daily flights between Madrid and Sao Paulo, as well as one flight a day from the Spanish capital to Rio de Janeiro.
