Jetstar has announced that it would begin operating direct services from Bali* to Adelaide, the fifth-largest city in Australia, from 18 December 2013.
Jetstar Australia and New Zealand Chief Executive Officer David Hall said the low fares carrier’s three times weekly service would make the popular island destination more affordable for Adelaide residents.
“We know that travellers all across Australia love to holiday in Bali,” Mr Hall said.
“We see many South Australian customers booking flights to Bali via Perth or Darwin so it’s clear there is demand for a direct service.
“The introduction of a non-stop service reduces the travel time by up to five hours allowing our customers to make the most of their holiday.
“Bali is a popular destination for family getaways and we think parents will appreciate the convenience of a non-stop low fares service.”
The new return service will be operated by an Airbus A320 each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday with a flight time of 5 hours and 20 minutes.
The launch of the Adelaide-Denpasar route follows the introduction of Jetstar’s first international route from Adelaide (to Auckland) announced in September.
Flights on the Adelaide-Auckland route will commence on 16 December 2013. Return services – operated by an Airbus A320 in a single class – will also fly every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Once these flights commence, Jetstar will offer six international return services from Adelaide (or 2160 seats) each week.
