LOT Polish Airlines signs agreement with Swiss Aviation Training

Zurich Airport – Swiss AviationTraining (SAT) and LOT Polish Airlines signed an agreement today committing both parties to a long-term training partnership. Under the accord, LOT pilots and cabin personnel will undergo all their Embraer E-Jet training with SAT from next year onwards. The agreement has been signed for an initial period of six years. SAT will operate an additional new CAE Embraer 170/190 full flight simulator with dual head-up guidance system as of May 1st, 2013. The device will be installed in Lufthansa Flight Training`s premises at Frankfurt Airport.

“I am convinced that we have selected the best partner for this long-term training collaboration,” says Tomasz Balcerzak, Chief Operations Officer (COO) at LOT. “Our choice has been driven by the innovative and holistic training solutions jointly developed by experts of both parties. The smart use of latest training technology will reduce overall costs and increase training efficiency at the same time.”

The close and long-term collaboration envisaged promises substantial advantages to both partners. LOT will benefit from SAT’s extensive training expertise and sophisticated training methodologies in the Embraer E-Jet field. The state-of-the-art training platform allows LOT a flexible use of training devices, instruction material and examination tools. Its modular and flexible web-based learning platform in particular enables the training provided to be optimally aligned to individual trainee’s needs.

For SAT, the new collaboration with LOT is a welcome endorsement of its quality product and solution oriented market approach “We’re confident that Swiss AviationTraining can add sizeable value to LOT through its training services, and we are honoured to have been selected to provide this long-term solution to one of the largest E-Jet operators in Europe,” says Laurent Privet, VP Commerce at SAT. “We highly appreciate the trust that LOT has placed in us, and welcome our new partner to our E-Jet Competence Center.”

SAT has already successfully trained 2420 pilots and 4650 mechanics to work on the Embraer E-Jet since the new aircraft family was first brought to market in 2003. The knowledge and experience that it has accumulated in the process have further cemented SAT’s position as one of the leading trainers of cockpit, cabin and technical personnel in the aviation world.
