Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation hosted its “MRJ Finance Conference 2014” in Dublin, Ireland on the 21st of this month. Similar conferences, held regularly in Japan, the United States, and Europe, are intended to promote a better understanding of the MRJ program and champion the state-of-the-art MRJ as an asset value to airlines, financial institutions, and aircraft leasing companies.
A major center for aircraft financing, Dublin has been an MRJ conference venue since 2011.
Securing financing is paramount for clients since acquiring an aircraft involves a significant amount of funding. Operating leases, strongly dependent on the asset value of an aircraft, offer flexibility and as such are garnering attention as one of several avenues for procuring aircraft such as the MRJ.
The tenth in a series of MRJ finance conferences, the Dublin event featured briefings on the market the game-changing MRJ is about to enter, an update on the program’s status, and guest speakers from airlines and the finance industry. Reflecting the industry’s high level of interest, the conference brought together more than 100 participants, the largest number to date.
Mr. Chihiro Atsumi, Japan’s Ambassador to Ireland noted in his speech, “The development of the next-generation Mitsubishi Regional Jet has attracted a great deal of interest and demand for aircraft in the MRJ class is expected to increase significantly. Today’s event here in Ireland, one of the world’s major centres for aircraft leasing, is a valuable opportunity to give you all an understanding of the Japanese aircraft sector’s advanced technology capability.”
Mitsubishi Aircraft will continue these and other focused events to foster greater awareness of the MRJ and contribute to its success.
