Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) invested approximately €30.2 million in the acquisition of five aircraft during 2025 as part of its fleet renewal and operational recovery strategy.
According to the airline’s financial statements, the aircraft were fully paid for by the end of the year and are expected to reduce LAM’s reliance on leased aircraft while strengthening domestic and regional operations. The investment forms part of a broader restructuring program aimed at addressing years of financial difficulties, fleet shortages and operational disruptions.
The Mozambican government has also approved measures to restructure the airline’s debt, with several state-owned companies participating in the recovery plan to improve LAM’s long-term financial and operational stability.
