Zhuhai, China, November 13, 2012 – At this year’s Airshow China, MTU Maintenance Zhuhai, a joint venture between Germany’s leading engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines and China Southern Air Holding Company, has signed new agreements for CFM56-3 engines with Postal Airlines China, one of MTU Zhuhai’s most important customer owning the country’s largest cargo fleet of 17 B737s, and with the Japanese carrier Solaseed Air. Together with a number of other engine maintenance contracts on the CFM56 and the V2500, MTU Maintenance Zhuhai has accumulated a total sales volume of 186 million US dollars in the past month.
As part of the MTU Maintenance network of companies, MTU Maintenance Zhuhai started operations in 2003 and is today the largest engine maintenance provider in China. The company focuses on the repair of V2500 and CFM56 engines of customers from all over the world. The test cell is one of the biggest and most advanced of its class and can accommodate engines up to 150,000 pounds of thrust. MTU Maintenance Zhuhai has been authorized by CAAC, EASA, FAA and Airworthiness bureaus of Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Japan among others.
