National Jet Express Adds Ninth E190 as FIFO Fleet Expands

National Jet Express is adding a ninth Embraer E190 to its fleet as the Australian operator increases capacity to meet growing demand for fly-in, fly-out services.

The aircraft, VH-8EC, is scheduled to enter service on September 19 and will be based in Perth. Its arrival follows the introduction of NJE’s 13th De Havilland Q400, VH-8QE, in June.

With the latest E190, NJE’s FIFO passenger fleet will increase to 22 aircraft, comprising nine E190 jets and 13 Q400 turboprops. The fleet supports contract flying across Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland.

NJE plans to add a tenth E190 approximately one month after VH-8EC enters service, with further fleet growth planned over the following 12 months as demand for its FIFO operations increases.

The company operates and maintains both its E190 and Q400 fleets in-house, providing a common operating platform for existing contracts and additional resource-sector flying opportunities across Australia.
