New Managing Director at Martinair

AMSTELVEEN/SCHIPHOL, 19 July 2011 – Diederik Pen (43) is appointed managing
director of Martinair effective today.

After completing a degree in Economics, Diederik Pen began his career in the air
transport industry at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. He subsequently held
management posts at Brisbane Airport and at Virgin Blue in Australia. In 2006,
Diederik Pen joined Martinair Holland. As director of operations, he was part of
the Martinair Management Team and the Board of Managing Directors.

Diederik Pen: “I am proud to lead this specialised freight carrier with its
strong technical division and its many dedicated staff. I look to the future of
Martainair with confidence.”

The appointment of Diederik Pen has the full support of the Martinair
Supervisory Board and Works Council. Together with Rob Hougée, Director of
Finance, he will form the new Board of Managing Directors. Mr. Pen succeeds Paul
Gregorowitsch.

Effective 1 September 2011, Paul Gregorowitsch is appointed chief commercial
officer at airberlin, where he will hold a seat on the Executive Board.
