New York - the first stop of LOT's Dreamliner

Warsaw, June 1, 2013 – The world’s most modern aircraft in LOT’s livery took off today at 1:18 PM from the Warsaw airport to New York. This is the first transatlantic passenger flight of the LOT Polish Airlines Dreamliner after the three-month break. Thus, the Polish national carrier resumes scheduled transatlantic flights with Boeing 787 aircrafts.

The aircraft with the registration number SP-LRC with 205 passengers onboard is scheduled to reach the JFK airport in New York at 4 PM local time. The flight will last 8 hours and 8 minutes. The LOT’s Dreamliner is piloted by Captains: Jarosław Górny, Wojciech Kołodziej and Janusz Janiszewski.

As initially planned, the Dreamliner was officially to return to service on June 5, flying to Chicago. However, we have managed to speed it up.

Currently, LOT has three Dreamliners in its fleet. The delivery of the fourth Dreamliner is scheduled for the end of June.

To remind, Boeing 787 is a long-haul aircraft (12,000 km) with maximum cruising speed 875 km/h, length of 57.72 m and wingspan 60.13 m. The interior seats 252 passengers.

The aircrafts purchased by LOT come in a three-class setup: Elite Club, Premium Club and economy class.
