P.R. Carpatair: 74 million euro turnover in 2010, to increase by approx. 14% since 2009
Timisoara, 09 February 2011: Carpatair, a full-service airline with the hub in Timisoara, recorded a turnover of 74 million euro in 2010, representing 14% growth compared to 2009. The airline also reported a 13% increase of the number of passengers on scheduled flights in 2010 and a load factor 6.5% bigger than in 2009.
It was the expansion strategy initiated in 2009 and strongly supported in 2010 that made these results possible. Thus, last year Carpatair added 2 new operational bases (Craiova and Bacau) to the two traditional ones (Timisoara and Bucharest). In parallel, the company introduced 6 new flights, expanding by 14 percent the total number of flights operated in 2010.
”Another important achievement in 2010 was the launching of the Bucharest – Milan flights on Milan Linate Airport. Carpatair is the only Romanian airline to be granted operation from this airport well known for its extremely convenient position and access to the city center. For Carpatair, getting access to Milan – Linate is a great success and recognition of the airline’s quality services”, declares Paula Ardelean, Vice President Marketing & Sales.
With the new routes introduced in 2010, Carpatair strengthens its leading position as national and regional carrier on the Italy relation, as being the airline with the most frequent flights/ week (152 one-way flights – 76 frequencies) and the most destinations operated in Italy (9).
At the beginning of 2011, Carpatair has made a powerful entrance on the holiday travel market with the City Breaks customized packages on 10 destinations in Italy, Greece and Germany. Carpatair’s new service provides customers with round-trip transportation and three-night accommodation at 3 and 4 star hotels (breakfast included) and, additionally, free assistance in configuring customized packages.
