POLYNESIAN ANNOUNCES WEEKLY FLIGHT TO OFU, MANU’A ISLANDS APIA

Polynesian’s Chief Executive Officer, Seiuli Alvin Tuala, confirmed today that Sāmoa’s National Airline will be operating a weekly flight to Ofu in Manu’a Islands starting from the 7th of May 2015 (American Sāmoa date).

“We will be starting with one flight a week and will be monitoring this service closely over the next three months to see if we can build up this route to a sustainable level”, Seiuli said.

According to Seiuli, Polynesian Airlines is working closely with the American Sāmoa Visitors Bureau to promote Ofu to inbound tourists from the United States as Ofu and Tau in the Manu’a Islands make up the National Park of American Sāmoa and are very popular with tourists. “We are also looking at promoting our Manu’a flights to eco-tourists who visit Sāmoa and want to go over to American Sāmoa to see these beautiful islands included in the United States’ National Parks programme.

Seiuli also confirmed that Polynesian Airlines has added an extra flight to Fitiuta in Tau, Manu’a since the beginning of April 2015. “With the Ofu weekly flight starting tomorrow, this brings the total number of flights Polynesian Airlines operate between Pago Pago and Manu’a to five a week as we now fly to Fitiuta on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays”, Seiuli added.

Polynesian Airlines will be offering the same fares to Ofu that they currently offer to Fitiuta, Tau. Oneway fares start from USD83.00 and round trip fares from USD160.00.
