Sabena technics and CAA, Compagnie Africaine d’Aviation extend their maintenance collaboration on Airbus A320 and Fokker 100 aircraft

Sabena technics in its quest to support growing African airlines has extended its collaboration with CAA, the main carrier of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
A year and a half ago, CAA selected Sabena technics as its exclusive maintenance partner for its Airbus A320 fleet. Today, the successful partnership has been extended to support newly acquired Fokker 100 aircraft.
Based in Kinshasa, CAA is the first airline in Central Africa to operate Airbus A320 aircraft. To support the growth of the domestic market in DRC, the company operates a fleet of three A320 and will be phasing-in, as from this autumn, two Fokker 100 aircraft.
Christophe Bernardini, Chief Executive Officer of Sabena technics said, “We are glad that CAA has once again renewed its trust in Sabena technics after a successful cooperation initiated early last year. CAA will be able to count on Sabena technics’ wide-range of capabilities and know-how in full support solutions to accompany them in their development.”
Sabena technics’ services to CAA include pool access with advanced standard exchange, component repair management per flying hour, APU support and continuing airworthiness management. The services have also been extended to A320 Brakes support from Sabena technics’ Brussels facility.
« CAA operates a diverse fleet comprised of Fokker 50, Fokker 100 and A320 aircraft to provide a complete coverage for passengers in the DRC. The future is bright and there are plans for international growth, » said David Blattner, CEO of CAA.
