For the President of SATA, António Menezes, “an agreement was reached that, through constant open dialogue, we insistently sought with the aim of reaching an understanding as quickly as possible”.
Through dialogue and the hard work that has been developed by all parties, according to the President of SATA, “the unions had to realize that they too had to work on reaching a solution that would respect Grupo SATA’s sustainability”.
António Menezes stresses that the various rounds of negotiations with the trade unions were useful “in bringing the various stands closer” and above all in leading to the " trade unions accepting that increased productivity is a result of more working time and less resting time".
The understanding that was reached provides for the adoption of measures that respect, as SATA has always defended, the legality and sustainability of the company, with the objective of “working more productively.”
At this time, for António Menezes it is important “to stress that the agreement that was reached is sustainable and legal and allows supporting the workers’ pay, on the basis of higher productivity of the company’s activity”.
The president of SATA highlights that “the agreement was reached by all parties, with mutual concessions and conquests”, adding that in the coming days “due to the complexity of the operational activity of SATA and the various professional categories involved, the parties will work out the technicalities of understanding in order to prepare it for signing after being ratified by the general meetings of the trade unions involved”.
“With the agreement now reached, SATA invests on pay for its workers and in return gains greater productivity in its activity, all within that which is legally permissible and based on greater productivity gains and increased value for the company’s sustainability”, concludes António Menezes.
