SAUDIA to launch Tabuk-Cairo flight

SAUDIA will launch a direct flight from Tabuk to Cairo on April 15 as part of its efforts to expand its international operations considering marketing and passenger traffic requirements.

Mr. Abdul Mohsen Junaid, EVP Commerce, said Tabuk would be the sixth station in the Kingdom to operate direct flights to Cairo, after Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah and Abha.

“This flight is an addition to SAUDIA’s operations to Egypt, including Cairo, Alexandria and Sharam El-Sheikh,” Junaid said, adding that it would serve passengers traveling between the two countries, especially during peak seasons.

SAUDIA’s three weekly flights from Tabuk to Cairo will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, leaving at 11:15 from Tabuk to reach in Cairo at 12:00 noon local time. The return flight will leave Cairo at 13:00 to reach in Tabuk at 15:40.

He said the new flight from Tabuk would make more seats available to passengers traveling to Cairo from the Kingdom. “The move comes within the framework of the management’s efforts to make optimum use of the airline’s fleet,” he added.

SAUDIA carried a record 1.8 million passengers between the two countries last year on 9,956 scheduled and additional flights. This reflects the growing Saudi-Egyptian relations.
