Scoot to Launch the First & Only Low Cost Flights Linking Singapore and Seoul

Scoot, LCC of the Year, today announced the launch of its 10th route to Seoul, the only low-cost link between Singapore and the capital and largest metropolis of Korea!

Scoot’s thrice-weekly service (Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays) to Incheon International Airport will operate via Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Tickets will go on sale from 25 March 2013 for travel from 29 May 2013.

Said Campbell Wilson, CEO of Scoot, “Scoot is thrilled to be the first low-cost airline to fly between Singapore and Seoul, and between Taipei and Seoul! With a population of 11 million, Seoul is vibrant, colourful, and fun, just like Scoot, and has plenty of good food and shopping options too. Scoot is therefore proud to be linking Singapore, Taipei and Seoul, offering budget-conscious travellers great value airfares, empowerment to tailor travel to their own needs, and an entirely new way to bring Kpop fans closer to their favourite Oppa and Unni at the same time. Now, it’s time to get outta here for some real kimchi and Gangnam Style, with a dash of Scootitude of course!.”

Scoot’s community-led online campaign “You Decide the Fare” is back! From 22 March 2013 (Friday) till 24 March 2013 (Sunday), fans can help set the Singapore–Seoul ticket sales launch airfare that will go on sale on Monday. All they need to do is “like” Scoot on Facebook and participate in the ‘You Decide the Fare to Seoul’ campaign. The more people who sign up, the lower the launch fare will be.

“That’s right, we’re letting Scoot’s supporters decide our launch fare to Seoul, just like how they did when we first went on sale in March last year with our $88 launch fares to Sydney and Gold Coast! We have engaged them on many occasions and our community has reached out to us for information on jobs, fares, where we will fly, and more. It’s important to us that the community feels as though they have a hand in building the company,” added Campbell.

In appreciation for their support, Scoot’s Facebook fans and those who have previously signed up to Scoot’s mailing list will enjoy advance access to the launch fares prior to the public sale.

The general public can access the launch fares at www.flyscoot.com or through the call centre from 5.00pm (Singapore time) on 25 March 2013 (Monday) till 11.59pm (Singapore time) on 28 March 2013 (Thursday), or until seats sell out. Fares for guests outbound from Seoul and Taipei will be released at a later date, upon approval by the regulatory authority. To take part in Scoot’s future promotions and get advance notice of special fares, “like” Scoot on Facebook at www.facebook.com/flyscoot or sign up to the mailing list at www.flyscoot.com.

Scoot’s network now comprises nine cities including Singapore, Sydney, Gold Coast, Bangkok, Taipei, Tokyo, Tianjin, Qingdao and Shenyang, with Seoul commencing in May 2013. In conjunction with three partner airlines, Scoot offers 35 more cities for sale, bringing the total number of destinations in its effective network to 45.
