Scoot's first Boeing 787 arrives in Singapore

2nd February 2015, Singapore – The first 787 Dreamliner of Asia/Pacific’s Best Low Cost Airline1, Scoot, touched down, on time, at Singapore’s Changi Airport at 9:33 this morning having flown in from Boeing’s factory in Everett, Washington.

Scoot’s first 787-9, named “Dream Start”, was welcomed at Changi Airport with a ceremonial water cannon salute.

The passengers aboard the delivery flight TZ787 included members of the media, contest winners and Scoot staff, and were warmly received by a welcome party of Scoot staff members, officials from CAAS, CAG, SATS, SIA and others.

“We are ecstatic to bring our first new aircraft home to such a fabulous reception. This is a great moment for all of us at Scoot and the start of a new chapter in our short but exciting history,” said Campbell Wilson, Scoot’s CEO.

Campbell added, “Dream Start, the first of 20 787s Scoot will receive over the next few years, is a game changer. It will allow us to triple in size, add new destinations, increase frequencies and grow the Singapore hub, all whilst continuing to offer unbeatable value airfares. New and improved seats, streaming movies, inflight Internet connectivity add to all of the choices and options Scoot already provides. And not to mention the 787’s inherent advantages such as larger windows, more comfortable cabin pressure and humidity, larger stowage bins, a smoother ride, lower noise, reduced emissions, and a step-change in operating economics. We can’t wait to get outta here aboard our first commercial flight to Perth in a few days time!”

“We are proud to deliver the first 787 to Scoot and have them join the growing family of 787 operators,” said Dinesh Keskar, senior vice president, Asia Pacific and India Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “The new Dreamliner will bring great value to Scoot’s operations and provide an exceptional experience for Scoot’s passengers.”
