Scoot's newest Dreamliner joins SG50 celebration

6th July 2015, Singapore – Scoot is celebrating SG50 in a BIG way, painting its newest Boeing 787 Dreamliner, named Maju-lah, in a special commemorative party-themed livery.

“Scoot is so very proud to call Singapore home. This young nation has achieved remarkable success in a short time through vision and hard work, and is a great inspiration to a young airline like Scoot. We are proud to join the SG50 celebrations and show that pride on an aircraft that will be seen around the world for months to come,” said Scoot CEO, Campbell Wilson.

He added, “The livery features Singapore’s iconic symbol, the Merlion, along with the SG50 logo, as well as Scoot’s fun, friendly attitude – Scootitude™ – in the form of the party themed-livery, crew caricatures and the name Maju-lah. But Scoot also wanted to give other Singapore success stories the canvas to celebrate, so we are honored to join hands with twenty local companies, each of whom is represented on one of the party balloons, to send our collective birthday well-wishes to Singapore.”

Aside from showcasing Singapore’s jubilee, Maju-lah will also host Scoot’s “National Day In-Flight Party”, being held in the run up to National Day. Featuring Kumar, Chua En Lai and others, members of the public can join this celebration of Singapore at 40,000 feet by winning themselves a seat through our series of Garang for Singapore challenges! Scoot’s newest 787 rolled out of Boeing’s factory with only the tail section painted, arriving under cover of darkness before heading straight into the hangar for a 7-day paint job, some of which was even done by hand!

The livery design evokes festive revelry with our effervescent Scootees, big red party balloons and bursts of confetti, along with the official SG50 logo upfront and caricature of Singapore’s iconic Merlion. Two bubbly Scootees (Scoot cabin crew) help spread the main message, “Happy 50th Birthday Singapore”, holding onto strings tied to balloons featuring our partners’ company logo.
