After being appointed by GA Finance, Skyworld Aviation placed an ATR 72-212 aircraft, serial number 461, with Islas Airways of the Canary Islands. The aircraft came off lease with Airlinair of France in November, and was ferried shortly before Christmas to Woensdrecht, The Netherlands for re-paint. Islas took delivery on 10th January 2011 and it is now operating on a 5 year lease term under the registration EC-LKK. Islas Airways began operations in 2003 and now has a fleet of six ATR 72’s providing inter-island services. They have a firm order for 3 new aircraft from ATR and options on a further two.
