SR Technics and Japan Airlines enter exclusive cooperation for engine services

February 11, 2014 – Zurich, Switzerland: SR Technics and Japan Airlines (JAL) have extended their existing partnership and signed an exclusive long-term cooperation for engine services. Beginning in February 2014 with a value of USDm 220, the new agreement will cover all CFM56-7B engines of JAL’s entire Boeing 737NG fleet, and provisions for extension options beyond the initial contract duration. Due to extensive in-house repair know-how, all work will be performed in SR Technics’ facility in Zurich.
The extended agreement builds on the existing Integrated Component Services (ICS) contract for the airline’s Boeing 737NG fleet, allowing JAL to benefit from a tailor-made solution and excellent customer service delivered in the past. It is the result of the close and long-standing relationship between JAL and SR Technics, and will further strengthen their cooperation for the future.
The agreement is an important milestone as SR Technics is currently expanding its worldwide presence and repair capabilities in Asia, providing customized and innovative solutions to its airline customers who benefit from world-class services, short turnaround times and close customer proximity.
Toshiki Oka, Executive Officer for Purchasing at Japan Airlines said: “Providing outstanding services to our customers is our core focus, and we therefore need partners that support these efforts. SR Technics’ proven track record in delivering short turnaround times at a high quality makes them a strong and reliable partner for us. We are pleased to expand our relationship to ensure Japan Airlines’ aircraft are kept at the highest possible standards in reliability and performance for our customers.”
André Wall, President at SR Technics, commented: "We are very proud to expand our existing relationship with such a well-renowned customer like Japan Airlines who shares our high expectations regarding service excellence and quality. We have enjoyed a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with Japan Airlines over the past few years, and we are looking forward to further deepening our cooperation in the future.”
