SWISS takes delivery of its second Airbus A350

SWISS took delivery of its second brand-new Airbus A350-900 in Zurich today. The aircraft has been named Delémont, and is the first A350 to bear the classic SWISS livery.

HB-IFB is the second Airbus A350-900 to join the Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) long-haul aircraft fleet. Unlike its sister aircraft HB-IFA, which carries the special ‘Wanderlust’ livery, the new delivery, which has been named Delémont, bears the classic SWISS paint scheme. HB-IFB is scheduled to enter revenue service on 23 February, when it will operate from Zurich to Montreal.

“Our first Airbus A350-900 has proved highly reliable in its first hundred days of operation,” reports SWISS Chief Operating Officer Oliver Buchhofer. “And we’re delighted that with every further A350 delivery we can treat more of our customers to our new SWISS Senses air travel experience. Eight more of these efficient new twinjets will join us in the years ahead. And each of them will help us steadily further modernize our long-haul aircraft fleet.”

With the arrival of HB-IFB, SWISS will now have two Airbus A350s in service. From the start of the 2026 summer schedules, the new long-haul twinjets will be operated on the Zurich-Boston and Zurich-Seoul routes. Further A350s are due to be delivered in the course of this year.

In gradually enlarging its Airbus A350 contingent, SWISS is sustainably renewing its long-haul aircraft fleet and further refining its customers’ air travel experience. The company will embark on a further program to refurbish its Airbus A330s in the course of this year which will equip these aircraft, too, with the state-of-the-art SWISS Senses cabin.

· 11 different destinations served: Boston (BOS), Düsseldorf (DUS), Geneva (GVA), Hanover (HAJ), Malaga (AGP), Nice (NCE), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Prague (PRG), Taranto (TAR), Toulouse (TLS) and Zurich (ZRH)

· 900 flight hours, the equivalent of some 600 soccer matches
