TACA AIRLINES WILL SERVE DOMESTIC TRAVEL WITHIN PERU, STARTING FEBRUARY 15

Lima – As of February 15, TACA Airlines becomes the new carrier for the Peruvian domestic commercial aviation market, operating direct and daily flights from Lima to the cities of Trujillo, Juliaca, and Tarapoto. Additionally, it will increase the frequency of its flights to Cusco, shifting from 13 towards 21 flights per week.
All this innovations are part of the airlines ambitious project, PERUVIAN ROUTES OF TACA, which will consolidate an important and agile route network within Peru through a series of phases. As a consequence the airline will suitably serve the national and foreign passengers travel needs, in addition to stimulating a greater number of visitors to enter the country.
Lima and the Trujillo united with daily and direct flight
The airline announced its new direct flight between Lima and Trujillo, to operate daily starting February 15. Trujillo is one of the cities with greater tourism and commercial relevance in the country and, in response to the travelers needs the airline is offering a new direct route.
Juliaca, now closer
The “city of windsâ€, the Lake Titicaca or Puno will be no more than one flight hour from Lima, considering that the airline will operate daily and direct flights starting the next 15th of February.
Two daily and direct flights will unite Tarapoto with Lima
With the intention of supporting the tourist and commercial development of the region, TACA Airlines will offer two daily and direct flights towards Tarapoto. This itinerary offers national and foreign travellers the possibility of knowing and visiting the well-known “city of the palmsâ€.
Service with world-class quality and safety
TACA will serve its Lima-Tarapoto and Lima-Trujillo routes with new Embraer 190 aircraft, the only ones in operation in Perú, which will fly between cities always keeping the highest safety and comfort standards that characterize the airline.
Fort the Lima-Juliaca route, TACA Airlines will use Airbus 320 aircraft, which are not only recognized world-wide by its cutting edge technology but also in keeping the highest safety and comfort standards.
All of these domestic flights with TACA, will offer business class or Clase Ejecutiva, on board entertainment, as well as the accustomed caring service provided by the airline.
Commitment to the progress and growth of Peru
Estuardo Ortiz, Executive Vicrepresidente and COO of AVIANCA TACA, indicated that “this project marks a landmark for the operations of the airline in the Peruvian market, as well as ratifying its commitment to continue its contribution and investment in the progress and growth of the countryâ€.
In this context, the AVIANCA TACA executive also informed that, “this new service of flights and destinations has meant an important investment for the airline, which is considered in approximately US$138 million dollars. This takes into consideration the fleet, technological infrastructure, offices and service centers, new job positions and training, among others. More than one hundred jobs have been created, additionally to the eleven hundred already existing onesâ€.
Quality service and cutting-edge technology supporting the development of the regions
Nani Garrués, Sales Director for South America of AVIANCA TACA, added that the arrival of TACA Airlines to the cities of Trujillo, Juliaca and Tarapoto foresees that the markets in Peru are growing and needing new commercial aviation carriers, and the airline is invested in the growth of the region. “The airline looks to support the effort of the retailer who needs to arrive quickly and safely at other cities inside and abroad, as well as to promote the tourist development of these cities through the timely arrival to these destinations not only of national tourists but also of foreign visitorsâ€.
The airline officially communicated this project to the press in a simultaneous effort in Trujillo, Tarapoto, Juliaca and Lima, through a press conference, where airline executives thanked the disposition and diligent work of the Peruvian authorities during the flight permissions and certification processes for the Embraer aircraft.
