Taikoo Engine Services (Xiamen) Co. Ltd. (TEXL) Receives CAAC, EASA and FAA Certification

Xiamen, China, 6th July, 2010 — Taikoo Engine Services (Xiamen) Co. Ltd. (“TEXL”) has received its Part 145 Approval Certificates from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (“CAAC”), European Aviation Safety Agency (“EASA”), and U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”). TEXL is now approved to perform maintenance on GE90-110/115B engines.
TEXL was established in July 2008 as a joint venture between Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd., Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd., Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. and Xiamen Aviation Industry Co. Ltd.

Located in Xiamen, Mainland China, TEXL specialises in the repair, overhaul and test of the GE90 series engines. It is an authorised GE90 service provider, GE90 Center of Excellence and the sole holder of a GE90 GE branded service agreement (“GBSA”) in Asia.

Tom Gentile, VP GE Engine Services, said, “We are very pleased that TEXL has received its CAAC, EASA and FAA certification for the facility. GE recognises TEXL as the sole and recommended GBSA GE90 MRO subcontractor in Asia for GEES’s GE90 MRO customers and as an important part of GE’s global MRO network.”

Augustus Tang, Chairman of TEXL, said, “Our staff have worked very hard to obtain these certifications. This is a significant milestone for the company and an important step towards establishing TEXL as a world class engine repair facility.”
