TAM MRO receives a new certification from Transport Canada Civil Aviation

TAM MRO, TAM Airlines’ maintenance unit, has renewed its certification to provide services for airplanes registered in Canada as well as their components. The new authorization from the Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) is valid until 2012.

“This certification authorizes TAM to work with nearly 6,000 components on Canadian aircrafts. Its renewal reflects the quality of our service and our efforts to expand the range of services and customers. We are currently certified by the world’s main aeronautical authorities,” states Luiz Gustavo Pereira da Silva, executive director of TAM MRO.

Issued for the first time in August 2010, the certification from TCCA authorizes TAM MRO to perform maintenance – as well as specialized services such as electrolytic deposition, welding and carpeting – on the following aircraft models registered in Canada: Airbus A318, A319, A320, A321, A330; Boeing 767, ATR-42 and Fokker-100.

Located in Sao Carlos, and covering an area on 4.6 million square meters, TAM MRO is also certified by the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the Federal Aviation Administration – FAA (United States), the European Aviation Safety Agency – EASA, the General Civil Aeronautics Supervision (Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil – DGAC, Chile), and by authorities from other countries in South America.
