THAI Smile Launches Flights to Colombo, Srilanka

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited announced THAI Smile will operate roundtrip flights from Bangkok-Colombo in THAI’s place, effective 20 August 2013.
Mr. Chokchai Panyayong, THAI Senior Executive Vice President, Commercial Department, said that THAI adjusted its flight schedule to meet passenger demands and market expansion. THAI Smile is the new choice for passengers travelling regionally who enjoy trendy, friendly, and worthy service based on THAI standards at affordable prices. THAI Smile, a THAI business unit, will operate roundtrip flights from Bangkok–Colombo, beginning 20 August 2013 at four flights per week and will increase to seven flights per week, effective 27 October 2013.
Currently, THAI Smile operates roundtrip flights to 10 destinations, with domestic flights from Bangkok-Chiang Mai, Bangkok-Surat Thani, Bangkok-Phuket, Bangkok-Krabi, Bangkok-Udon Thani, Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani, and regional flights from Bangkok-Macau, Bangkok-Ahmedabad, Bangkok-Mandalay, Bangkok-Colombo, Phuket-Delhi, and Phuket-Mumbai.
THAI Smile operates flights in two classes of service on the new Airbus A320-200 aircraft: “Smile Plus” Business Class and “Smile” Economy Class. Passengers traveling in “Smile Plus” are entitled to a baggage allowance of 30 kilograms, experience more privacy, comfort, and have access to the passenger lounge. In-flight meal service, refreshments, and baggage allowance in all classes of service are offered at no additional cost, and passengers may accrue Royal Orchid Plus frequent flyer mileage on THAI Smile flights.
