The Twelfth Embraer airplane has arrived in Argentina
Last Monday the 28th of March the twelfth Embraer (E-190) arrived in Argentina. This plane will be added to and increase the number of planes in Austral’s fleet. A total of 20 of these planes have been acquired by Aerolineas Argentinas from the Brazilian company Brasilera de Aeronáutica S.A (Embraer).
The new plane, with the registration number LV-CIF was positioned at airport in Salta.
When the delivery of the 20 new planes is completed Aerolineas Argentinas will have one of the most modern fleets in Latin America.
The E-Jets (Embraer) have 88 seats in economy class and 8 seats in business class, with 2 seats on either side of the aisle. It has a cruising speed of 0.82 Mach and can fly at an altitude of 41,000 feet (12,500 meters).
The Embraer (E-190) is an ideal plane to fly our routes in Argentina. Being it can fly 2,400 nautical miles (4,400 kilometers) it can be used for flights longer than 3 hours, like Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, Calafate and Rio Grande. Furthermore, passengers on domestic flights will be able to count on in-flight entertainment thanks to individual video screens.
As a reminder, the first E-190 arrived in Argentina at the end of September 2010. Two more E-190 planes will be delivered in April, which means gradually the objective of the Aerolineas Argentinas and Austral’s “Plan de Negocios” (Business Plan) is being realized.
