The UIA current regulations provide for at least two authorized persons` presence in the cockpit

Ukraine International states that UIA internal regulations are more stringent than current international standards, and provide for at least two crew members` presence in the cockpit.
According to ICAO, EASA and Ukraine`s Civil Aviation Authorities` regulatory documents all carriers are obliged to develop internal procedures providing that both pilots are present in the cockpit during the whole flight. The exception to the rule applies when there is a physiological need. Theoretically, in this case one flight crew member temporary stays in the cockpit. These standards are memorialized in current UIA core documents and fully comply with international requirements as was confirmed by the latest IOSA audit conducted in February 2015.
“Safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft has always been and remains the key issue of UIA operational policy, – noted Sergey Voichulis, UIA Deputy Vice President Flight Operations. – I`d like to highlight that UIA operational safety internal regulations have always been and still remain more stringent than current aviation security regulations. According to UIA procedures, at least two flight crew members are obliged to stay in the cockpit during the whole flight. These standards fully comply with EASA Safety Information Bulletin issued on March 27, 2015, subject: Minimum number of authorized persons in the flight crew compartment”.
