Tigerair Launches Direct Flights To The Maldives
SINGAPORE – Hot on the heels of its Langkawi and Boracay destination launches, Tigerair continues to add Maldives to its growing network of sun-sand-sea destinations. The airline will be the only no-frills airline flying direct to Maldives from Singapore.
Commencing 24 January 2014, the airline will operate four weekly flights between Singapore and Malé, capital of the Republic of Maldives. As Asia’s smallest country by population and land area, the natural beauty and splendor of the Maldives have won millions of globetrotters over thanks to its pristine tropical islands, famous crystal clear waters, hospitable people, gorgeous sunsets and powdery white sand beaches. It comes as no surprise that many regard the Maldives as the “Last Paradise on Earth”.
A haven to both the casual sunbather and the serious diver, the Maldives exudes nature in its finest beauty right in the heart of the Indian Ocean. A dip in the islands’ waters reveals an amazing and vibrant underwater world, home to almost 2,000 species of marine life in a fantastic variety of shapes and colours from the clown fish and cuttlefish to dolphins, turtles and manta rays.
For the adventurous, diving and snorkelling at the Maldives islands also promise to enthrall, as the islands consistently rank amongst the best diving destinations in the world. Avid divers and snorkellers can choose to take a boat out with local guides to the surrounding islands for an afternoon of fun, or take a dive in the lagoons, where one can find more than three quarters of the world’s reef and marine species.
Maldives boasts over 90 self-contained resort islands, offering a full suite of activities and facilities from adrenaline-rushing water sports to invigorating spas from which one can get an unobstructed view of the sun setting over the Indian Ocean. Some resorts even feature private villas with glass bottom floors suspended over the clear waters for an unparalleled view of exotic marine life.
“If you haven’t visited Maldives, you really owe it to yourself to make that trip because you will love the place,” said Mr Alexander Knigge, Chief Commercial Officer at Tigerair, “It is a perfect holiday destination regardless of whether you are taking a honeymoon, a family vacation or treating yourself to a much needed break from your busy life. We are very excited to be the first and only no-frills airline to fly to Maldives from Singapore.”
To celebrate the launch of the new Singapore-Malé route, Tigerair will be offering a special SGD133 promotional fare, inclusive of taxes. This promotion is available for booking today through 1 December 2013, and is valid for travel between 24 January 2014 and 20 September 2014.
