US Airways Reports November Traffic Results

TEMPE, Ariz., Dec. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — US Airways Group, Inc. (NYSE: LCC) today announced its November and year-to-date 2013 traffic results. Mainline revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for the month were 4.8 billion, down 0.1 percent versus November 2012. Mainline capacity was 6.0 billion available seat miles (ASMs), up 6.1 percent versus November 2012. Mainline passenger load factor was 80.1 percent for the month of November, down 5.0 points versus November 2012.

“Our November consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) decreased approximately four percent versus the same period last year,” said US Airways’ President, Scott Kirby. “While our November PRASM results fell below our expectations due to the timing of the Thanksgiving holiday, we currently expect that our December PRASM will exceed the high end of our guidance. As a result, our combined November/December PRASM will fall within the range of our prior guidance.”

For the month of November, US Airways’ preliminary on-time performance as reported to the U.S. Department of Transportation was 86.1 percent with a completion factor of 99.3 percent.
