UTair-Express and PowerJet Sign Support Agreement for Sukhoi Superjet Engines

UTair-Express, a part of UTair Group, signed a technical support agreement with PowerJet for SaM146 engines installed on Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. Six aircraft of this type are scheduled to join the UTair-Express fleet in 2014, with first delivery expected in June.

PowerJet has agreed to provide UTair-Express with technical and operational support for the engines, engine modules and related components. PowerJet has also committed to assigning a personal manager responsible for communication between the airline and the support team.

“PowerJet is proud to provide UTair-Express with technical support for the SaM146 engines,” said PowerJet CEO Claude Poulain. “Our goal is to meet all the requirements set by the company.”

“The agreement is an important step toward including Sukhoi Superjet 100 in our fleet,” said Anatoly Karavaev, CEO of UTair Express. “We hope to extend our partnership with PowerJet in the future.”
