Vietnam Airlines and Jet Airways sign Memorandum of Understanding

Hanoi – Today, within the framework of the State visit of President of India to Vietnam, under the witness of Mr. Truong Tan Sang – President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee – President of India and leader representatives of two countries, Mr. Pham Ngoc Minh – President and CEO of Vietnam Airlines and Mr. Naresh Goyal – Chairman of Jet Airways have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which adds a number of important contents into the comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two airlines.

Under the agreement and MOU, Vietnam Airlines and Jet Airways will continue to expand their codeshare cooperation to offer guests more convenient connecting flights between India and Vietnam through the international gateways of Bangkok, Singapore and Hongkong via the combined networks of both airlines, namely:

- Vietnam Airlines will place its marketing code on Jet Airways’ flights on the route Singapore – Mumbai/Delhi/Chennai, Bangkok/Hongkong – Mumbai/Delhi and Jet Airways’ new direct route Delhi – Ho Chi Minh via Bangkok.

- Jet Airways will place its marketing code on Vietnam Airlines’ flights on the route Singapore/Bangkok/Hongkong – Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam Airlines’ new route Singapore – Phu Quoc;

In addition, the two airlines also share a commitment to coordinate closely in trade promotion activities to promote the aviation market between India – Vietnam, which shall prepare the best premise for direct air services between the two countries.
