Ras Al Khaimah, U.A.E., 20.12.10 – The second of RAK Airways three weekly flight to Cairo arrived at Cairo International Airport at 0850 yesterday to a VIP welcome by Egyptian dignitaries and officials.

RAK Airways, a national carrier of the UAE, recently added Cairo as its fifth destination to its growing route network, offering three flights a week from Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.

Onboard RAK Airways second flight to Cairo were Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Vice Chairman, RAK Airways and Omar Jahameh, CEO, RAK Airways, who were met by a VIP delegation led by the UAE Consul General in Egypt Dr. Rashid Hamad Al Affari who attended on behalf of the UAE Ambassador to Egypt H.E. Mohammed bin Nakhera Al Dhaheri, upon arrival at Cairo International Airport.

Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Vice Chairman, RAK Airways, said, “The launch of RAK Airways Cairo flights is in keeping with our commitment to expand our route network and further enhance our high-value offering to our customers. Included in the price of each RAK Airways flight is a full hot meal and beverages on-board all flights, a baggage allowance of 40kg per passenger as well as the normal hand baggage allowance and free shuttle service between other emirates and RAK International Airport for each flight.

RAK Airways offers free parking for passengers who wish to drive to RAK International Airport which is 40 minutes away from Sharjah and 50 minutes away from Dubai.

Flights to Cairo are on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday leaving RAK International Airport at 0700 and arriving in Cairo at 0850. Return flights from Cairo are on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday leaving at 0950 and arriving at RAK International Airport at 1520.
