Barcelona, 8th June 2011. – Vueling, the new generation airline, has carried 1,110,081 passengers in May’11. This implies a 17.5% increase vs. May’10. The company has achieved a 72.8% load factor, 1.3 points higher than last year.
New international bases in Toulouse and Amsterdam have contributed to the traffic increase in May.
Moreover, Vueling has continued operations in Madrid airport that allow Vueling to feed Iberia long haul flights and to increase current point to point network with 7 destinations (Warsaw, Bucharest, Majorca, Alicante, Malaga and Fuerteventura) . These operations at Madrid Airport are the result of an agreement reached with Iberia to operate some of its short and medium haul routes from Madrid during the March- October period.
The company expects to reach new agreements with other airlines to feed long haul flights shortly.
