Vueling presents a 267% growth in Rome-Fiumicino with 24 new routes, being seven domestic and eight dedicated aircraft

Vueling has launched today at a press conference what will be the largest growth of the company for the next summer season 2014. The airline has presented a 267% growth at the Fiumicino airport, linking it with a total of 33 direct destinations within Italy and Europe. Vueling will designate eight aircraft to cover its new operations at the main airport of the Italian capital.
During 2014 seven new domestic routes will be progressively launched: Catania, Palermo and Turin with four daily flights; Genoa, flying three times a day; Bari, twice a day; Brindisi and Lamezia with one daily flight. In addition, Vueling will offer its passengers 17 new direct international routes from Rome: Brussels and Athens (two daily flights), Prague, Munich, Berlin and Amsterdam (one flight daily), Split (five flights a week), Dubrovnik and Mykonos (four flights a week), Santorini (three weekly flights), Malta, Alicante and Seville (three weekly flights) and Rhodes, Corfu, Crete and Santiago de Compostela (twice a week). All the new routes will join the other nine already being operated by Vueling (Barcelona, Malaga, Ibiza, Majorca, Menorca, Valencia, Madrid, Paris -Orly and Nantes). The proposal that Vueling has presented to Rome today is undoubtedly founded on the successful experience that the airline has matured over the past five years at El Prat. The airline plays a decisive role in its main airport. This circumstance will allow El Prat to become the European airport with the most number of short and medium haul flights operated exclusively by its leading airline by next summer. Furthermore, Rome is an ideal base due to its geographical situation and its Euro-Mediterranean DNA, a distinctive hallmark of Vueling and its network, which connects Europe from north to south.
