WestJet launches service from Prince George to Las Vegas

CALGARY, Sept. 10, 2011 /CNW/ – WestJet today launches twice-weekly service from Prince George to Las Vegas for an 11-week trial period. The inaugural flight leaves today at 11:45 a.m. PDT from the Prince George Airport.

“As announced back in July, we had a window of additional flying time over an 11-week period and we knew there was demand for service to Las Vegas from Prince George,” said John MacLeod, WestJet Vice-President, Network Management and Alliances. “So, we are taking the opportunity to test the feasibility of this service. We encourage the people of Prince George and the surrounding regional district to make good use of this service and demonstrate that it is a viable option to consider as our fleet grows.”

“We are very excited to be partnering with WestJet to offer another non-stop flight from YXS,” said John Gibson, President and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority. “Now is the time to show that Northern Residents want and can support a direct flight to the Entertainment Capital of the World.”

Service from Prince George to Las Vegas will operate as follows. One way fares for this service are available from $119 plus applicable taxes and fees.
