TAMPA, Fla. (October 1, 2012) — Leading aircraft maintenance company, PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO), has announced a newly executed maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contract with a top U.S. based ultra low-cost airline. The substantial project, which began on September 17, focuses on the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of numerous passenger aircraft.
The MRO work will take place at PEMCO’s impressive 12-bay, full service FAA approved facility in Tampa, Florida. The airline utilizes an all-Airbus fleet and the new contract includes maintenance on several of their A320 family of aircraft including cabin refurbishment and other maintenance. The completed aircraft will rejoin the fleet servicing the United States, Latin and South America and the Caribbean for the airline, which has achieved $1 billion in annual revenue and is now classified as a major airline carrier by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
“As usual in North American MRO deals, the details of the project are being kept confidential. However, we are excited about the opportunity to begin a new partnership with one of the top low- fare airlines,” stated PEMCO CEO, Bill Meehan. “PEMCO looks forward to providing excellent service and know-how for this new customer.”
