FEBRUARY 25TH, 2026
Aerolíneas Argentinas closed 2025 with an operating surplus of 112.7 million dollars and zero transfers from the state
For the first time since the company was renationalized in 2008, Aerolíneas Argentinas ended 2025 without receiving a single peso from the National State and with an operating surplus of 112.7 million dollars, almost double the 56.6 million dollars obtained in the year 2024. With a total turnover of over 2.22 billion dollars, 2025 was positioned as the second consecutive year of surplus, an unprecedented event in the company’s recent history.
From an operational point of view, the company flew the same number of hours as in 2024, with an occupancy factor of 83% out of an average of 300 daily flights, in which 35,016 passengers traveled per day. The total number of passengers transported during 2025 reached 12,781,016. The reliability of the operation was reflected in a compliance factor of 99.4%, which resulted in a positive assessment of the quality and reliability of the service by customers reflected in an NPS (Net Promoter Score) of 55 points.
At the same time, Airlines reduced its banking and financial debt by 41% – from 341.9 to 207.4 million dollars between December 2023 and the same month of 2025 – as part of a sustained policy of cleaning up its accounts. Thanks to these and other cost reduction measures, the company announced the incorporation of 18 new aircraft to strengthen and modernize its fleet, on a path aimed at boosting the efficiency and profitability of its operations. In this process, for which bidders are already being sought, the incorporation of four Airbus A330neo, eight Boeing 737 MAX 10, four Boeing 737 MAX 9 and two Boeing 737 MAX 8 is expected.
Fabián Lombardo, president and CEO of Aerolíneas Argentinas, said that “this result strengthens the direction we have adopted during the last two years, in which we focused on reducing costs and maximizing profitability. Aerolíneas Argentinas showed that it can compete on an equal footing with other companies in the industry, reaffirming its unfading commitment to operational safety and the quality of its service.”
The result corresponding to 2025 is currently in the process of validation by the KPMG consultancy, which has already certified the accounting statements for the year 2024. This process will culminate with the approval of the 2025 balance sheet by the company’s Board of Directors towards the middle of this year. It should be remembered that between 2008 and 2023, Aerolíneas Argentinas recorded an average operating loss of 400 million dollars per year at the EBIT level. Since its re-nationization, the company demanded from the State more than 8 billion dollars in direct transfers.
