Air Dolomiti’s fleet grows: two Embraer 195s bring the total to 28 aircraft

The addition of two aircraft strengthens connectivity and operational capacity

Air Dolomiti, airline of the Lufthansa Group, has expanded its fleet with the arrival of two Embraer E195 aircraft: the first plane was delivered in December and is already servicing routes, while the second, which arrived yesterday, March 16th, will enter service in the coming weeks. This step marks the beginning of a new phase in the company’s fleet development.

The introduction of the E195s is part of a fleet renewal and growth program that will continue until 2028 and foresees the gradual arrival of 13 aircraft of this model, which will gradually replace nine of the current 108-seat E190s in service. Once the plan is complete, Air Dolomiti’s renewed fleet will increase from the current 28 units to a total of 30 aircraft, resulting in an increase in overall capacity and operational efficiency.

This expansion will allow Air Dolomiti to further strengthen its role within the Lufthansa Group network, offering a greater availability of seats on strategic routes while maintaining high standards of reliability and passenger comfort.

The fleet growth is part of the company’s development path, which in 2026 will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the start of its operations. In fact, Air Dolomiti began service on January 21st 1991, with four daily flights on the Trieste–Genoa route, operated with 50-seat De Havilland Dash 8 Series 300 aircraft. Since then, the airline has continuously expanded and renewed its fleet, contributing to connectivity between Italy and the Lufthansa Group’s hubs.
