Air Europa places a firm order to incorporate up to 40 A350-900 aircraft into its fleet.

• The airline will base both its future expansion and the renewal of the company’s long-haul fleet on this model.

Madrid, January 22, 2026 – Air Europa presented this Thursday at Fitur the firm order finalized at the end of last year with Airbus for the upcoming addition of up to 40 A350-900 aircraft. The event was led by the airline’s president, Juan José Hidalgo, and Ville Arhippainen, Head of Sales for Western Europe at the aeronautical consortium.

The definitive agreement, signed last December, which followed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Dubai Airshow, constitutes the cornerstone of the airline’s long-haul fleet renewal project. It also represents the best guarantee for continuing its expansion, using an aircraft that stands out for its advanced technology and the comfort provided by its design.

The A350-900 will allow Air Europa to continue offering the best in-flight service, especially on routes to Latin America, which are the most distinctive part of Air Europa’s offering. Its capacity, both for passenger and cargo transport, is combined with exceptional operational performance and efficiency, guaranteeing compliance with the quality standards already enjoyed by the airline’s customers.

The A350, designed to cover distances of up to 9,700 nautical miles or 18,000 kilometers non-stop, incorporates both the most advanced technologies and a state-of-the-art aerodynamic design that provide unparalleled levels of efficiency and comfort. Its latest-generation Rolls-Royce engines and the use of lightweight materials offer the advantage of reducing fuel consumption by 25%, as well as operating costs and carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. Like all Airbus aircraft, the A350 can operate with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in its tanks.
