Arena Aviation acquires 8 aircraft portfolio from AerCap

Arena Aviation Capital is pleased to announce the recent acquisition, on behalf of a US based investment fund, of a package of six (6) Airbus A320-200s and two (2) Boeing B737NGs. The aircraft are all on lease to quality airlines including EasyJet, Air France, Avianca and Norwegian. Seller in the portfolio deal, said to be worth around $180 million, was AerCap – the Irish based and world’s largest aircraft leasing company. The transaction represented the third portfolio deal for Arena with AerCap to date. The last aircraft was delivered on 2 July of this year. Bank financing for the acquisition was arranged by PK AirFinance, who also act as Facility Agent and Security Trustee.

This brings the total number of aircraft acquired for investor clients since launch in 2014 to 135. The company currently manages a portfolio of 60 managed and contracted on-lease aircraft.

“We are grateful to once again have been given the confidence by a market leader like AerCap to put together a tailored package deal for an important new U.S. investor client of Arena. All parties worked with patience, hard and collaboratively to close the transaction. We look forward to repeating this feat with everyone involved,” said Erik Dahmen, Chief Commercial Officer of Arena Aviation Capital.
