BBAM has signed an agreement to acquire 30 CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B spare engines, expanding its engine portfolio to support operators of Airbus A320neo family and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
The multi-year order represents BBAM’s first direct engine purchase from CFM International and builds on the lessor’s existing portfolio of CFM56 and LEAP engines. The additional spare engines are intended to strengthen aftermarket support for airline customers operating next-generation narrowbody fleets.
The LEAP engine family has become one of the fastest-growing commercial aircraft engine programs, with more than 10,000 engines delivered worldwide. CFM continues to introduce upgrades aimed at improving durability, extending time on wing and reducing maintenance requirements for operators.
The agreement further expands BBAM’s presence in the commercial aircraft engine leasing market as demand for spare engines continues to increase alongside the global growth of A320neo and 737 MAX fleets.
