GA Telesis Launches First Boeing 737 MAX 8 Disassembly Program

GA Telesis has announced its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 disassembly program, expanding its supply of used serviceable material (USM) for next-generation narrowbody aircraft.

The initiative follows the company’s announcement earlier this week of three LEAP-1A-powered Airbus A320neo airframes acquired for dismantling, extending its aftermarket strategy across both the Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A320neo families.

The 737 MAX 8 program will recover avionics, flight controls, landing gear equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, nacelle components and other assemblies for distribution to airlines and maintenance providers.

GA Telesis plans to process recovered components through its technical records, inspection, repair and overhaul operations before making eligible material available through its global distribution network.

The company is targeting growing demand for alternative component supplies as airlines contend with extended original equipment manufacturer lead times, maintenance cost pressures and the increasing number of next-generation aircraft entering service.

The initiative also expands GA Telesis’ support for airlines operating mixed fleets of Boeing 737NG and MAX aircraft or Airbus A320ceo and A320neo models.

GA Telesis did not disclose the aircraft’s identity, acquisition cost, disassembly location or expected completion date.
