HSBC Supports First K-SURE-Backed Aircraft Financing for Korean Air

HSBC has supported the first aircraft financing transaction backed by Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-SURE), providing financing for a Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner delivered to Korean Air.

The bank acted in multiple roles on the transaction, including Export Credit Agency (ECA) Coordinator, Mandated Lead Arranger, Original Lender, K-SURE Agent, Facility Agent, Security Agent and Paying Agent. HSBC said the financing establishes the first use of K-SURE cover for an aircraft transaction and builds on its longstanding relationship with Korean Air in export credit-backed financing.

The transaction was structured in close cooperation with K-SURE to provide a competitively priced financing solution for the airline.
