ITA Airways to Launch Rome–Caracas Flights in March 2027

ITA Airways will introduce nonstop services between Rome Fiumicino and Caracas on March 30, 2027, restoring a direct air connection between Italy and Venezuela.

The route will operate three times weekly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, using Airbus A330-900 aircraft. Passengers will also have access to connecting services across ITA Airways’ domestic and international network through its Rome hub.

The announcement follows a memorandum of understanding signed on October 13, 2026, by ITA Airways CEO Joerg Eberhart and Venezuela’s Ambassador to Italy, María Elena Uzzo Giannattasio.

The agreement was developed in cooperation with aviation authorities and diplomatic representatives from both countries, establishing the framework for resuming direct air services.

ITA Airways expects the route to serve business and leisure travelers, particularly the Italian and Italian-descendant communities in Venezuela, while supporting trade and tourism between the two countries.

The new service will expand ITA Airways’ long-haul network in Latin America and strengthen Rome Fiumicino’s position as a connecting hub for travel between Europe and South America.
